Ways of doing things is moving image artwork which documents and reimagines a live, remote one-to-one performance, of the same name, which ran for 48 performances in November 2021. The film shifts between interviews and dances with Human Cell Atlas researchers, young carers and transplant recipients. These works continue the artist’s ongoing fascination with the relationship between the body and time, bringing attention to the immediacy of consent and the longevity of research whose impact extends beyond our lifetime. It imagines the viewer as a potential donor and invites them to be matched, looking for patterns and connections beyond themselves.

As part of the original performance people were invited to join the performer in a duet just using their hands and to donate a recording of this to a database, which you can find here.
